television and speaking career

Although he was born without legs, Dave played football, baseball and was a champion wrestler at Wickenburg High School in Arizona. His dream was to be a professional baseball player.  With amazing effort and determination, he fulfilled that "Impossible Dream" in 1996 when he played minor league baseball for the St. Paul Saints. Stevens has also tried out for the Minnesota Twins and Cincinnati Reds and continues to work out with MLB and minor league teams.

Stevens is the only legless player to have ever played college football. Dave was a noseguard for Augsburg College (Div III). His talents led to a tryout with the Dallas Cowboys in 1990. He also played for Team USA in games in Ireland, New Zealand and Australia. After a 20 year hiatus, Stevens now plays quarterback and defense for the Wounded Warrior Amputee Football Team against former NFL stars. Dave helps raise money and awareness for our heroes who have served our nation.
